Limpopo, South Africa – Vusizi Nickel, a project spearheaded by Misava, is proud to announce the launch of the first phase of drilling at its highly prospective Awaruite nickel deposit in the Limpopo province. This milestone marks a key step forward in the company’s efforts to define and develop a significant new source of nickel in South Africa.
The initial drilling campaign will focus on high-priority targets within the Awaruite-bearing ultramafic complex, identified through detailed geophysical surveys and surface mapping. The program aims to confirm the presence, extent, and grade of disseminated and massive nickel mineralization associated with Awaruite – a naturally occurring nickel-iron alloy known for its potential to support low-carbon extraction technologies.
“This is a transformative moment for Vusizi Nickel and Misava,” said Mr. Topman Ngonyama, CEO of Misava. “The Awaruite deposit presents a rare and exciting opportunity to unlock a strategic nickel resource using responsible exploration practices. We are proud of the groundwork our team has completed and remain committed to developing this project with transparency, technical excellence, and community partnership.”
Vusizi Nickel will continue to engage local communities and stakeholders as the program progresses, ensuring that exploration activities are carried out responsibly and with long-term regional benefits in mind.
